Excema Rash
Yeast Infection Causes by Jane Harling
Yeast infections can be utterly miserable.
Up to 75% of women and 50% of men can expect a Yeast Infection at some point in their lives. Often recurring up to five times a year.
Candida Albicans is a naturally occuring yeast that is found in the body. Normally good bacteria keep this fungus under control and in quantities that don’t cause any problems. Candidiasis or Yeast Infection happens when for a multitude of reasons the natural balance of the body is affected & the yeast can grow and multiply out of control.
This fungal infection attacks the skin and parts of the body including the intestinal tract, mouth and vagina. Some of the many syptoms can include
* A thick vaginal discharge with a distinctive “yeasty” odour
* Intense itching
* Burning sensations
* Swollen areas and rashes
* Infections in the toe and fingernails
* Excema
* Lack of energy and vitality and quality of life
* Gas and digestive discomfort
* Sinus
* Migraines, mood swings, brain fog and food cravings
* Muscle aches and Joint pain
Some list! A yeast Infection does mean that the natural inner balance of your body has been adversely affected. Your body has a carefully balanced PH( acid/alkali balance )and a yeast infection will take hold if there is too much of an acidic state occuring.
Candida Albicans is the yeast that causes the infection but the reasons causing it to multiply out of the norm can be many and the true source of the trouble. Often there are many reasons at once.
With these many symptoms a diagnosis can sometimes be difficult and, indeed, many doctors seem underinformed and often rely on the mass market, over the counter drugs and creams that simply attempt to relieve the external symptoms but do nothing to solve the underlying cause. This is why so many people have recurrent Yeast Infections.
We, therefore, need to understand the Yeast Infection Causes if we are sort the origins of the problem. Identifying the cause can mean one or many lifestyle changes. Let’s look at some of the most common triggers.
* Diet. A diet high in sugar and refined products is a leading factor. This sugar feeds the yeast causing it to multiply out of control. Junk food can also be very acid producing. Lots of fresh vegetables and wholefoods are much better at promoting an alkaline environment where yeast won’t thrive so well.
* Antibiotics. Prolonged use kills the good bacteria as well as the bad ones you were taking the antibiotics for. This means there aren’t enough good bacteria present to keep the yeast fungus under control.
* A weak immune system. This could be due to Cancer or HIV. Sadly yeast infections are common here. A weakened immune system can also be due to Stress, lack of sleep or simply feeling under the weather. Often something simple like this along with one other cause is enough to trigger an attack.
* A warm or damp environment. It is particularly important to wash regularly in hot weather and after exercising and to dry well after, as fungus thrives particularly well in these conditions.
* Clothing. Cotton or breathable fabrics are best, particularly right next to the skin i.e. underwear. They will wick away moisture and stop that yeast loving damp environment. Clothes should also not be too tight. Best to let air circulate freely.
* Chemicals. Some deodorants and particularly vaginal sprays can cause problems. They can cause allergic reactions and unbalance the skin. Anti perspirants also kill the bacteria that causes odours yet some of these bacteria would kill the fungus and help keep under control. You may also wish to avoid dyed or perfumed toilet paper.
* An infected partner. You will keep passing the infection back and forth if you both don’t get treated.
* Condoms. Some have an added lubricant and a spermicide containing an active ingredient called Nonoxynol 9. This can trigger an attack. Also latex can be an allergen.
Sometimes only a simple change of lifestyle is needed. Generally a holistic approach is the way to go. Tackling the Yeast Infection Causes in your body and not merely attempting to quick fix the external symptoms is the only way to keep these dreaded infections at bay for good!
